MY GENUINE JOURNEY

My Brown My Confidence was created from a deep belief that Black and brown children deserve to grow up surrounded by stories, images, and educational experiences that reflect their beauty, intelligence, culture, and potential.

For generations, many children within the Black community have had limited access to books and learning materials that consistently place them at the center of positive stories. Too often, they have been expected to connect with materials that do not reflect their appearance, families, communities, or lived experiences.

My Brown My Confidence is working to help change that.

I create culturally affirming children’s books, literacy activities, confidence tools, and educational resources that allow children to see themselves while they learn. My goal is to make representation a natural and meaningful part of childhood, not a rare or occasional experience.

My Mission

My mission is to strengthen literacy, identity, and confidence in Black and brown children through stories and learning experiences that help them feel seen, celebrated, and inspired.

I want children to understand that their brown skin is beautiful, their voices are important, their names have meaning, their culture has value, and their dreams deserve room to grow.

Being a Black Woman, proud business owner, author, mother of two passionate towards being the voice of empowerment and creativity for uplifting our black culture as our presence is here to stay.
